If a facility processes, manufactures, or otherwise uses more than the threshold quantities of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA) list of reportable substances, it is required to submit a Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) by July 1 of each year. Failure to submit can lead to enforcement action by USEPA or the state environmental agency. Learn about the TRI, the reporting criteria, and how to report your releases online in this session.

Learning Objectives:
1. Define the TRI.
2. List the three criteria your facility needs for reporting.
3. Understand how to calculate your usage of TRI-listed chemicals.
4. Summarize how you calculated your releases of the reportable chemicals.
5. Describe how to use USEPA's TRI-ME web system for reporting.
