This session features a panel discussion on the legal ramifications of employees working under the influence of alcohol, medication and medicinal marijuana. Also discussed is how employers need to address and handle medically approved and/or medically necessary pharmaceuticals at work.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Explain the various laws reflective of working under the influence;
  2. Define operating under the influence, and when it is legally OK to do so;
  3. Recall how to properly handle issues with employees suspected of being under the influence of illegal and legal drugs; and
  4. Describe alternative tasks for employees who have a legal and/or medically necessary circumstance.
